Relating Design Storm Events to Ordinary High Water Marks in Indiana
This project will involve comparing a representative number of channels across the state with known ordinary high water marks (OHWMs) to a variety of storms with high recurrence intervals to determine which flow rates correspond to the known elevations. The research will also involve compilation of rainfall and streamflow data for modeling and comparison of model outputs with observed high water marks. The project deliverables will be an objective way of specifying the OHWM for design of hydraulic structures.
