Enhanced Guidance for Implementation of Safety Strategies
To develop enhanced guidance and low-cost, effective solutions for major crash concerns identified in American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) & 039;s Strategic Highway Safety Plan. The goal is to facilitate implementation of solutions that have the potential to reduce fatal crashes by at least 10 to 15 percent in 3 to 5 years. Guidebooks will be developed for the following crash concerns: truck-related, pedestrian in large urban areas, utility pole, curve-related, signalized intersections, older drivers, and unbelted drivers and occupants.
