Evaluation of Limestone Resources in Douglas, Franklin and Miami Counties, Kansas

The objective of this study will be a three county materials inventory: to identify and evaluate the quantity and quality of surface/near surface limestone for aggregate in areas of rapid growth. This study will focus on the lateral variation in the chemistry, mineralogy and physical properties of key limestone members/formations; determining whether the properties are related to durability; and identifying areas where viable quarries could be located.
