Fatigue Enhancement of Steel Bridge Girder Systems Susceptible to Out-of-Plane Distortion
Phase 1 of this project will accomplish the following: 1) the construction of a reaction frame and experimental set-up that allows testing of two-girder or three-girder assemblages with cross-frame-to-girder connections. 2) fabrication of the girder assemblage with connections strengthened using techniques adopted by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) for past bridge repairs, and 3) testing of the initial girder assemblage.
