Evaluation of Bridge Decks Using Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) at Near Highway Speeds for Effective Asset Management

The proposed research will adopt a multi-­&amp;#8208;faceted approach of time­&amp;#8208;dependent analysis, processing algorithm development, and demonstration and deployment of advanced technologies to characterize deterioration health indicators for bridge decks including the deck fascia, and top and bottom surfaces, building from work recently advanced through the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA) - cooperative agreement no DTOS59-­&amp;#8208;10-­&amp;#8208;H-­&amp;#8208;00001. The USDOT/RITA project has been strongly supported by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) in cooperation with the Michigan Tech Transportation Institute (MTTI), the Michigan Tech Research Institute (MTRI), and the Center for Automotive Research (CAR), <www.mtti.mtu.edu/bridgecondition>. This research plan will take advantage of several of those current relationships (MTTI, MTRI and MDOT), and add partner, Talon Research Inc.
