LRFD of Bridge Foundation Accounting for Pile Group-Soil Interaction
INDOT needs economical, reliable pile load and resistance factor design (LRFD) methods. However, no research has been done on LRFD of pile groups. This project aims to enable INDOT to take advantage of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) LRFD mandate by transitioning to designs based on state-of-the-art technology and methods of design and to develop the corresponding resistance factors needed for LRFD design of pile groups.
