SPR-3818: Cost Benefit Analysis and Implementation of NDT Testing of INDOT Bridge Decks
This study will review the effectiveness and resulting possible financial impact of various non-destructive tests for extending the useful service life of the bridge deck and overlay system. Critical issues to be addressed include: the effectiveness of the non-destructive tests in evaluating the deck/overlay condition; the financial impact and savings realized by extending the useful service life of the deck/overlay system; and an evaluation of the cost versus the benefit of extending the inspection program if it proves to be a viable method of assessing bridge deck condition.
