Use of Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite Cable for Post-Tensioning Applications - Phase 2

The objectives of this project are to: (1) Establish design guides for carbon fiber reinforced polymer CFRP post-tensioned systems considering material properties, post-tensioning devices (anchoring systems, deviators, and jacking systems), and structural behavior (flexural and shear, serviceability, and ductility), based on current state of the art, experimental work and analytical simulation. (2) Assess the constructability of CFRP post-tensioned systems based on the current state of the art, experimental work, and analytical simulation to lead to construction specifications for CFRP post tensioned system. (3) Evaluate the methods of inspection of CFRP post-tensioned systems based on current state of the art, experimental work and analytical simulation. (4) Develop methodologies and guides for maintenance and repair of tendons in CFRP post tensioned systems, based on current state of the art experimental work and analytical simulation.
