Regional Transportation Planning Organizations (RTPO)
The research will provide an inventory of states with established Regional Transportation Planning Organizations (RTPOs), a literature review, identification of RTPO practices, detailed interviews with state department of transportation (DOT) staff, and RTPO staff. The research will provide a state of the practice of the current RTPO process and how states and RTPOs are currently meeting the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21) language with the development of long range transportation plans and transportation improvement programs.
