Truck Parking Proposal
In the fall of 2008, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) awarded the I-95 Corridor Coalition a $5.5 million grant under its Truck Parking Initiative to develop a Truck Parking Availability System and to explore innovative truck parking capacity expansion strategies. In the summer of 2010, the FHWA released a second solicitation under its Truck Parking Initiative. Based on progress made in the development of the system and in identifying potential deployment locations, the Coalition decided to prepare and submit a proposal to FHWA for deployment expansion and enhancement of the Truck Parking Availability system being developed under the initial grant from FHWA. The objective is to prepare a proposal for the I-95 Corridor Coalition to submit to FHWA for funding to enhance the Coalition's Truck Parking Availability system and to expand the deployment of the system to additional sites in the region.
