Trans Economics Center
This research has two major objectives. The first objective is to synthesize the current understanding of the value of time and trip time reliability shippers and users of the freight transportation system apply in their decision-making process, and how they measure the value of time. The second objective is to identify gaps in current knowledge and areas for additional research, and to develop a research plan to more fully understand how the different users of the freight transportation system value time and how this information can be used in evaluating public sector investments in freight infrastructure, intermodal facilities, and demand management options. These objectives will be accomplished.
