Engine Test Cell Upgrade Project
Funding is provided to the University of Kansas Center for Research, Incorporated for the research project titled "Engine Test Cell Upgrade". The project has two interrelated components that cover different aspects of biofuels testing and analysis. The main objectives for this project are to: (1) develop a single-cylinder engine test cell for a fundamental combustion property analysis of biofuels, with respect to engine performance and emission profiles; and (2) develop a multi-cylinder engine test cell, in order to support fuel production and "Feedstock to Tailpipe" analysis efforts underway that endeavor to create a sustainable fuel for the nation out of renewable feedstocks.
