Hampton Roads-Crater Multimodal Distribution Study
The Old Dominion University Research Foundation (Grant Recipient) is to provided funding for the project titled "Hampton Roads-Crater Multimodal Transportation and Distribution Study. The proposed project is being procured in accordance with provisions of the Public-Private Transportation Act of 1995 as amended (PPTA). The project entails the new construction of approximately 55 miles of four-lane divided limited access highway between Petersburg and Suffolk, Virginia. It will extend from the existing U.S. Route 460 near its interchange with Interstate 295 (I-295) in Prince George County to the U.S. Route 58 bypass just south of the existing U.S. Route 460 in the City of Suffolk. The proposed roadway will significantly improve access between the Hampton Roads and Crater Districts.
