Advanced Crash Avoidance Technologies Program (ACAT) I - GM/VTTI Backing Crash Countermeasures Project
The focus of the Advanced Crash Avoidance Technologies (ACAT) Backing Crash Countermeasure Project is to develop a safety impact methodology that will facilitate the estimation of safety benefits that would be realized from a prototype backing countermeasure system. This research will determine if a safety impact methodology is feasible and what additional work is needed to develop a safety impact methodology that can be used to estimate the effectiveness of backing-crash countermeasures.
