Wayfinding Project
This project will study and evaluate the industry and traveler benefits associated with transit wayfinding/route information technologies and strategies. With the explosion in mobile-, vehicle-, and infrastructure-based information technologies over the past five years, industry has moved forward with providing products and services to consumers who demand instantaneous, easily accessible and easy-to-use information. The transportation systems and agencies have not kept pace with these changes and require Federal leadership, insight, and assistance on how to incorporate, integrate, and leverage the opportunities afforded by these technologies and services.
