PEV and Hydrogen Demonstration Project
In partnership with Kokam America Inc., and the City of Kansas City, Missouri Transportation Institute (MTI) will utilize the city's existing airport shuttle and fleet operations as a platform to demonstrate the viability of electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technologies in a controlled, real-world environment. The integration of these demonstration vehicles into the city's day-to-day operations will allow the project team to gather and evaluate data related to the range, safety, serviceability, and public acceptance of battery-powered vehicles while simultaneously evaluating the pathway to integrate renewable energy into a transit service.
