Integration of Federal Lands Management Agency Trans. Data Planning & Practices (SI-11-02.03)
The objective of this project is to develop a detailed tool to manage anticipated climate change impacts to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) and National Park Service (NPS) transportation infrastructure throughout the northeast United States. The geographic study area would include the national wildlife refuges and national park units within the following states: Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. This project will be a "test bed" for emerging approaches to identify vulnerable infrastructure and develop adaptation strategies. It will focus on transportation infrastructure in the northeast but its results can be applied nationally.
