Pilot Testing the FHWA Sustainable Highways Self-Evaluation Tool (SI-11-02.05)
The objective of this project is to pilot test the Infrastructure Voluntary Evaluation Sustainability Tool (INVEST). INVEST is a web-based self-evaluation tool designed to help Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) determine how to incorporate sustainability best practices into transportation projects programs and practices. The purposes of the INVEST pilot tests are to: (1) provide input on the utility of the tool; (2) refine and update the component criteria and identify best practices; and (3) calibrate scoring and achievement levels.
