SPR-3711: MEPD Implementation (Validation/Model Calibration/Acceptable Distress Target/IRI Failure Trigger/Thermal Selection/Binder Selection) and Climate Data Generation
The goal of this project is refinement of the INDOT MEPDG design procedure to match Indiana's conditions and parameters more closely. The following objectives are established to meet this end goal: a. Review the performance criteria in MEPDG and establish new pavement design performance criteria. b. Verify and validate the performance models in MEPDG and eliminate remaining conservative pavement design criteria. c. Assure that the current INDOT policy regarding the Superpave asphalt pavement guidelines supersedes the asphalt pavement dynamic modulus in the MEPDG. d. Create a comprehensive Indiana climatic data file in XML format for input into MEPDG.
