Maximum Heat of Mass Concrete - Phase 2

The objectives of this project are to: (1) build a data base of rate of heat production of different cement blends used in mass concrete in Florida. This database is needed to provide convenient inputs to the DIANA software for the modeling of mass concrete structures in Florida; (2) evaluate typical segmental bridge pier segments used in Florida to determine whether some of them need to be treated as mass concrete structures; (3) investigate the insulating properties of different types of soil and under various moisture conditions to be used in thermal analysis of footing placed on them; and (4) further develop the software for mass concrete analysis.
