Strengthening of Bridge Wood Pilings Retrofits for Moment Resistance - Phase II

This project will build on the knowledge gained during Phase I to address several critical and important practical issues that will help in accepting and adopting the technique of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) retrofitting of bridge timber piles in the State of Illinois. The work plan will mainly focus on studying the load rating and retrofitting of abutment piles and the long term behavior of FRP retrofit technique. The work plan will also include developing a training/educational video for county engineers.
