Evaluation of Overlay Rutting Susceptibility and Microsurfacing Performance
Objectives on this project include the following: (1) For one test site in northern Utah, compare the rutting, cracking, and roughness of adjacent PG 64-34 and AC-10 overlay types for 3 years, and evaluate how well the Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) can predict the observed results; and (2) At several sites in Utah, evaluate microsurfacing pavement treatments and establish life-reduction factors based on observed performance. Reports for each of these two efforts will be prepared and published.
