CalFrance Partnership
Through a Administrative Agreement between Caltrans and the French Department of Transportation (Ministère de l'Ecologie, de l'Energie, du Développement durable et de l'Aménagement du Territoire (MEEDDAT)), Caltrans recognizes that the department can benefit from a regular exchange of information on selected research topics and technologies. Both organizations encourage active sharing of resources and results between California and French research and development teams that they sponsor, which is susceptible to leveraging existing investments and can yield increased value to both parties. The focus of CalFrance is on practices and technologies that can improve transportation safety, efficiency, security, and impact to the environment.
