Experimental Evaluation of the Continuous Risk Profile (CRP) Approach to the Current Caltrans Methodology for High Collision Concentration Location Identification

This project will compare and experimentally evaluate the identification of high collision concentration locations (HCCLs) determined by the current Caltrans methodology (Sliding Moving Window (SMW) to those identified using the CRP approach. This project will also integrate the internet-based CRP software tool with the existing performance measurement system (PeMS) to facilitate expanded pilot testing and staff training for potential statewide deployment and adoption.
