Feasibility Studies for Improving CT Bridge Fragility Relationships

This task will conduct a limited set of interrelated feasibility investigations needed to investigate the potential of achieving substantial improvements in seismic fragility relationships used to characterize California bridges. The task will be performed under the guidance of the "Bridge Fragility Working Group" consisting of engineers from research, earthquake engineering, bridge design, and bridge maintenance. The scope of this task is to make a limited number of immediate improvements to fragility relations now used in Caltrans applications and to examine the feasibility and benefit of conducting a broader program of improvements.
