San Diego Integrated Corridor Management (ICM), Phase 3 Demonstration and Evaluation
The third stage of the federal Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) Initiative involves performing the demonstration and evaluation for the I-15 ICM system in San Diego County along the I-15 corridor. The San Diego ICM Pioneer Site Team is led by San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) and in partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), Caltrans, the cities of San Diego, Poway and Escondido, and the transit agencies that operate within the I-15 corridor, namely, the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) and the North County Transit District (NCTD). This task supports only a tiny portion of the overall effort. In this effort, the University of California PATH Program is supporting the work led by SANDAG consisting of the following tasks: project management; refinement of system requirements; ICM system design and testing, implementation, and evaluation of a training program to document ICM system operations and delivery of knowledge to system users; analysis of operational and maintenance needs and development of operations and maintenance plans; support the development of both pre- and post-deployment analysis, modeling, and simulation of the I-15 ICM corridor.
