BART Air Freight - Phase 3
Work with the various stakeholders and investigate the feasibility of using the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system to move air freight (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc) in and out of San Francisco and Oakland international airports. The task is divided into two parts because of funding challenges. The part 1 of the task is under T.O. 1952 and focuses on a comparison of the current BART system and what technical, operational, and institutional changes would need to be made to accommodate freight. Part two under this T.O. (2274) is directed at transshipment feasibility for Air Freight Carriers (AFCs) and operation logistics for BART and AFCs.
