Aggravating Risk Factors
The Phase I report documents the results of the first phase of a multi-phase project, which will identify new factors and evaluate the feasibility of adding them to the current Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) accident prediction risk model. Phase I is the basis of the current project, and concludes with suggestions for further direction of the initial research on post-crash aggravating risk factors. In Phase II, research will be conducted into the occurrence of crashes involving post-crash aggravating risk factors and the associated severity.
