Railroad Trespass Hot Spots
The objective of this research is to develop a methodology for the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and other interested organizations to study locations of high concentration of train/vehicle and trespass incidents and fatality events known as "hot spots." The results of this work will aid the Federal Government and State agencies in targeting mitigation strategies. The University of Waterloo in Canada has performed similar research of rail hot spots. The initial task of this research will be to develop a project implementation plan and produce two scoping documents. This was a FY08 project.
