Success Factors in the Reduction of HRI Incidents (Phase II)
This project is a follow-up to work completed under RR03 DB013. This purpose of the first phase was to identify the reasons for a reduction of incidents at highway-rail grade crossings during the years 1994 to 2003. This second phase will investigate the continuing effects (if any) of the success factors identified in the first phase, the impact of new factors, and potential areas for safety improvement for the years 2003 to 2007. A program prototype that will provide summary analysis will be designed for transportation professionals at the State and local level. This was an FY08 project.
