Golden Bear Demonstration Projects
The objective of this project is to engage in a series of marine vessel environmental performance tests to establish best environmental practices for maritime industry. Work will center on air emissions, water emissions, and energy efficiency. The Golden Bear will be used as a baseline platform to prove promising green technologies. This program builds upon the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) developed Marine Vessel Environmental Performance Program and Green Technology install project. Supports the MAR-410 Strategic Plan by continuing to promote environmental sustainability and reduce emissions and the dependence on traditional energy sources. Also promotes other green initiatives related to the marine transportation system.
