Pilot Project to Cost Share Repower of Inland Waterway Vessel to Assess Cost and Benefits of Repower, Including Emissions Reductions and Fuel Savings
Supports the MAR-410 Strategic Plan by continuing to promote environmental sustainability and reduce emissions and the dependence on traditional energy sources. Through this study, the Maritime Administration (MARAD) would gather information on the cost/benefit of repower and the resulting fuel and emissions savings gained. The data could be used to support a larger Federal role in providing future incentives for marine vessel repowers.
