Research for AASHTO Standing Committee on Highways. Task 263. Update of the AASHTO Guide for the Planning, Design, and Operation of Pedestrian Facilities

The 1st Edition of the AASHTO Guide for the Planning, Design, and Operation of Pedestrian Facilities (AASHTO Pedestrian Guide) was published in 2004 and reflects the state of the practice in 2001 - 2002 when it was written. Being the first edition, this guide may need some content changes or additions that were discovered once practitioners began using the guide. In addition, there has been newer research in many areas affecting the planning, design, and operation of pedestrian facilities. The objective of this study is to develop an outline of the scope and content of the next edition of the AASHTO Pedestrian Guide.<div></div>
