Construction Contracting Process Improvements

This transfer technology pilot project seeks to implement a business process management (software) system (BPMS) to support the management and continuous improvement of the agency's business processes. This will be accomplished by 1) the implementation of a of a best practice BPMS framework and methodology, 2) improving the management of the Construction Contracting subprocess using the BPMS, 3) maximizing acceptance of change while minimizing operational disruptions, 4) demonstrating the value of aligning IT investments to business objectives, 5) demonstrating the value of business process management (BPM) as a relevant & applicable business management model for VTrans, 6) ensuring sufficient project participation by stakeholders to obtain acceptance of process changes impacting their processes & deliverables, 7) improving upstream supplier understanding of the need for quality inputs, and 8) meeting or exceeding downstream customer expectations of process outputs.
