Fundamental Properties of Asphalts and Modified Asphalts

The objective of this contract is to conduct the congressionally- mandated studies (ISTEA of 1991, Section 6016) of the fundamental chemical and physical properties of petroleum asphalts and modified asphalts used in highway construction. Emphasis is to be placed on the prediction of pavement performance from the fundamentally and rapidly measureable properties of these asphalts.
