Hydrogen Refueling Appliance

The Personal Fuel Appliance (PFA) is one option for introducing a Hydrogen as a transportation fuel, especially in the early stages. The PF based on the production of electrolytic hydrogen, thus making use of the existing electrical grid and the water distribution systems. PFA contains a small compressor and a controller for completely automatic operation. The PFA could be located outside a garage for over-night refueling of a fuel cell car or an ICE converted to hydrogen fuel. In this Phase, Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan will be testing at least two of the Prototype "Personal Fuel Appliances", so-named by the contractor.
