Roadside Inspection Data and Crash Data Analysis

The Bureau of Freight Services has requested a review of inspection and crash data to determine "chronic" late and erroneous reporting by inspectors and law enforcement officers. It is imperative to ensure data integrity, timeliness and quality in all stages of data collection, data maintenance, and data usage for the purpose of planning and decision making. The task order set forth by the Bureau of Freight Services, identifies two major areas: Inspection Data - Data Integrity and Timeliness; and Crash Data Analysis - Development of a Human-Centered Decision Support System.
