Optimum Bridge Deck Shapes to Minimize Pressure Flow Scour
This research project will characterize streamlines and shear stresses on channel bed for a variety of bridge deck shapes and positions. The result will be a more rational procedure for estimating pressure flow scour with the potential for taking advantage of streamlined shapes.
