Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) Research and Test Development
This research project will perform ruggedness tests on the several methods for determining the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of concrete cores or molded cylinders and report recommendations to the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Subcommittee on Materials. Continue gathering data on the coefficient of thermal expansion and coarse aggregate type identification for cores taken from portland cement concrete pavements in the long-term pavement performance, with data provided for addition to the Long-Term Pavement Performance database.
