Asphalt Mixtures with Improved Oxidative Aging Resistance
The objective of this research project is to develop methods for tracking the oxidation of asphalt binders by measuring changes in aromaticity, elemental composition, and carbonyl content and link these changes to physical changes in the mix. Data will be used to develop methods for retarding the oxidation process.
