Feasibility and Design of an Accelerated Infrastructure Testing Facility (AITF)

The objective of this research project is to develop a bridge deck testing facility with plans for an initial phase to be constructed by 2010. This first phase would include an enclosed facility to house the testing equipment and samples. It will require loading docks, bridge cranes and other equipment necessary to perform and monitor the testing. A second building will be constructed on the site in this phase as a shell for a future materials testing lab. A third area will comprise an outdoor testing facility for pavement, and this will be constructed in a second phase.
