Efficient Transportation Systems

The objective of this project is to build upon research conducted in a previous study funded by VTrans to examine state programs to increase transportation efficiency. In turn, this can lower transportation costs for Vermonters, reduce green house gas (GHG) emissions, and lead to a more efficient and effective delivery of state transit and rideshare services. In 2009, a design will be developed for an optimal transit system network based on three objectives a) connectivity, b) maximum mobility (to serve as maximum demand) and, c) transit ready density.
