Improved Longitudinal Joint Construction

The objectives of this project are to: (1) review surrounding state and relevant national longitudinal joint construction techniques and related specifications; (2) review and conduct field trials of new techniques for longitudinal joint construction, including joint reheating, improved rolling patterns, and other basic construction techniques; (3) monitor joint performance associated with the implemented changes in gyration levels; and (4) monitor initial joint performance and develop construction guidelines and appropriate specifications.
