American Cities Foundation Project TRANSIT
This amendment supports the ongoing effort of the American Cities Foundation Project TRANSIT to connect neglected citizens of Philadelphia to careers and business opportunities available within the transportation industry. By working with the School District of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Streets Department, Project TRANSIT was able to reach over four hundred fifty (450) 11th and 12th grade students with information about careers in public transportation. One hundred forty (140) students participated in job-readiness training preparatory to placement into internship positions with the Streets Department of Philadelphia in transportation-related roles.
