The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) cosponsored the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) World Summit that took place in Augusta, Ga., May 5-8, 2010. Mountain bicycling is one of the most popular recreational trail uses. About one-third of the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) projects funded through the States include mountain bike use (about $20 - $30 million per year of the $60 - $80 million in RTP obligations). The IMBA World Summit is an educational conference providing information about trail planning, design, construction, maintenance, operation, and management.
