Smart Roadside Initiative Support

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are advancing a Smart Roadside Initiative, with the goal of linking commercial vehicle safety, security and mobility systems into a coordinated and comprehensive roadside program. FHWA has requested proposals for a contractor to analyze existing and potential technologies, applications, and user needs, and to develop, validate, and test prototypes of selected applications in a roadside setting.
