Design, Fabrication, and Construction of Long-Span Prestressed Girder Bridges
The long-span prestressed girders WSDOT have constructed recently using high performance concrete mixes have experienced some cracking at the ends of the girders. This project will analytically investigate the cause of this cracking and propose solutions. Design criteria and specifications will be modified based on the results of this research. Primary benefit will be extended life for these longer girders.
