In-Situ Pavement Evaluation for I-265 Jefferson County MP 15.54-18.80

This section of roadway was constructed in the mid 1980's of 10-inch PCC pavement on six inches of DGA. The driving lanes in each direction have exhibited mid-slab transverse cracking along with differential settlement relative to the inside lane and the outside shoulder. In addition, faulting of the transverse joints and at mid-slab cracks has also been observed. A rehabilitation plan has been developed. To assist in the evaluation of the rehabilitation alternatives, the Transportation Center will conduct a field evaluation to determine the in-situ pavement conditions.
