Research for AASHTO Standing Committee on Highways. Task 210. Guidelines for the Selection of Cable Barrier Systems

This study will produce a definitive set of recommendations for the selection of cable barrier systems (both generic designs and high-tension proprietary designs). The recommendations will be based on available data from evaluations by state DOTs and other credible sources. AASHTO's Technology Implementation Group (TIG) will also be working on cable median barriers. Information should be shared in both directions. The contract was executed on August 25, 2005 and work is underway.
