Research for AASHTO Standing Committee on Highways. Task 182. Evaluation of Highway Innovative Technology Evaluation Center (HITEC)
The objectives of this research are to evaluate the role and effectiveness of the HITEC ( Highway Innovative Technology Evaluation Center) in overcoming existing barriers to the introduction of new and innovative technologies into the highway market, and 2) recommend modifications to the HITEC to maximize the effectiveness and utility of the program to state transportation agencies and the vendor community. Research is nearly complete. The draft final report is scheduled for submission in September 05. The anticipated completion date of the research is November 2005.
